Studio Up is a Los Angeles based design group that embraces the power of architecture and the positive change it can bring to its inhabitants and the community. Our design processes are driven by a simple desire - “How can we make our built environment better?”. This does not necessarily mean building big, but instead to build smart and strategically. Rather than pursuing a grandeur or pre-defined architectural style, we strive to pin-point the appropriate intent, scale, gesture and technology for each project to improve the way we live, work and play. Our goal is to produce effective designs with the greatest positive impacts.

 

We believe good architecture should coexist mutually with the earth that had nurtured us for centuries. Only with a deep understanding of the site’s ecological, historical and cultural characteristics can we begin to design buildings that are truly integrated with and adaptive to the ever-changing natural and urban forces. At the same time, our innovative spirit elevates us to constantly examine new possibilities in sustainability and community-making. This pushes our designs to become key catalysts for positive change that uphold environmental responsibility, uplift economic value and inspire greater community well-being - all the necessary ingredients in creating a better world.
